We wish to dedicate this article to the Chilean Army, and more specifically to the “Dirección General del Territorio Marítimo y de Marina Mercante” (DIRECTEMAR). First of all, we would like to congratulate them on their 180th anniversary of the Lighthouse Speciality and then, on the confidence showed and materialized by the supply of 3 resilient beacons, 109 Marine Lanterns, 19 AIS systems and 16 conventional buoys.

The Chilean Navy is carrying out a “Project for the renewal of maritime signaling devices” known as the “Fénix Project”, which is the largest replacement and acquisition that the Navy has made in the last 40 years.

Mediterráneo Señales Marítimas (MSM) has been awarded 16 nos. high-quality rotomoulded polyethylene buoys, model PBM 25; 3 nos. resilient beacons, model ASBM 25 with submerged float that guarantees its stability even in the worst conditions of waves and currents; 19 nos. remote monitoring systems of typeAIS, model MTU AIS and 109 nos. Marine Lanterns with LED technology of short and medium range, models MBL 150 (52 units) and MBL 400-LD (57 units).

From MSM we are very proud to participate in this project in favour of the Chilean network of Aids to Navigation.
